On Saturday 21st March (10am - 11:30am), The Hub is holding its first joint Bike and Fabric Repair Cafe. Bring along any bikes, clothing or soft furnishings in need of some TLC and enjoy a cup of tea and a pastry! All money raised goes directly back into the Repair Cafe or towards The Hub's youth provision.
What is a Repair Café?
A Repair Café is a community-driven initiative that encourages people to repair their broken items rather than discarding them. It serves as a gathering place where individuals can share skills, tools, and knowledge to fix a variety of items.
What can I bring?
The Hub's Repair Cafe is for both bikes and fabrics. Bring any clothing or soft furnishings needing basic repairs or alterations or any bikes in need of basic fixes, inner tube replacements or check-ups. Please bring along any spare parts such as inner tubes or new zips so our repairers can best help you.
How much does it cost?
All repairs are carried out free of charge but a donation is encouraged to help cover running costs. All donations go back into the Repair Cafe or towards The Hub's youth work.
All items in the cafe cost £1 each.
I want to help out - what can I do?
We are always looking for more volunteer repairers! If you have any sewing or bike repair skills, we'd love to have you on the team.
We also would really appreciate lending of equipment such as sewing machines and bike stands.
Spread the word!
Please email allie.rivero@claygatehub.org.uk if you are able to help in any way.
We look forward to seeing you in March!
