The Hub helps Clean Up Claygate (again!)

First Joint Bike and Fabric Repair Cafe
Last month, The Hub held its first joint Bike and Fabric Repair Cafe. 7 fantastic volunteer repairers saw 25 items and fully fixed 23. Thank you to everyone who attended! Our next Bike and Fabric Repair Cafe will take place on Saturday 16th May, 10am - 11:30am. Bring along any bikes, clothes or soft furnishings in need of a fix, alteration or new part, and our friendly team of repairers will do their best to help you out! Disco Fever!
On Thursday 26th March, our Thursday night Hub session was transformed into a (silent) disco. The lights were flashing, the music was pumping, and everyone was dancing the evening away. It was a joy to see everyone having fun. We also welcomed over fifty young people to The Hub, our second largest number of attendees ever! Thank you to everyone who supports The Hub for making this possible.

High Praise indeed...
From Katie Holmes - Manager and Youth Worker I am really please to announce that Claygate Youth & Community Hub has been awarded the High Sheriff of Surrey award. We were invited to an event in Guildford along with 30 other recipients and able to take some of our longest serving volunteers. Today, we're wearing odd socks as part of the Lots of Socks campaign, just like Joseph, one of our awesome young volunteers! MORRIS DANCING AT THE HUB
On Tuesday night, the Thames Valley Morris Men came and taught some Hub members their tricks! Morris dancing is a traditional English folk dance with handkerchiefs and bells. A huge thank you to the Morris Men for coming in! We love when local groups come in to share their skills with our young people.

Hub Repair Cafe: fixing bikes and mending clothes
On Saturday 21st March (10am - 11:30am), The Hub is holding its first joint Bike and Fabric Repair Cafe. Bring along any bikes, clothing or soft furnishings in need of some TLC and enjoy a cup of tea and a pastry! Elmbridge Young Person of Honour Awards 2025 - Congratulations Elloura!
On Friday 30th January, we had the honour of celebrating our very own Elloura who won the Elmbridge Young Person of Honour award for overcoming Personal Adversity. We are so proud of Elloura for this achievement but, more than anything, we're proud of the wonderful young person that she is. Elloura brings so much positivity to The Hub and is an amazing role model. Congratulations! Thank you to Surrey Police and Fearless for organising these awards.

QUITE THE TURN ON...
On Saturday, we had a blast at the Claygate Village Association's Christmas Lights Switch-On. Hub volunteers and young people sold cookies, brownies and hot chocolate and our lucky dip was a big success!
