The Hub celebrates World Down’s Syndrome Day with odd socks and Karate!

21st March was World Down’s Syndrome Day, which many young people and volunteers supported by wearing odd socks. At The Hub that evening, we also had a Karate demonstration from our young volunteer Joseph Clifton. Joseph has Down’s Syndrome and competes for Great Britain in karate – and we are proud that he is in fact a double Para Commonwealth Gold Medallist.

Watching him is such a joy. His strength, power and dedication to his craft is inspirational for us all. You could have heard a pin drop during his demonstration and some of our young people were heard saying "I'm not going to mess with Joseph!"

The Hub is so proud of you Joseph. Thank you for being our volunteer and a role model to us all.
